On Sunday, 18 February 2018, the International Tourist Guide Day will be celebrated for the 29th time with free guided tours of the new Weltmuseum Wien. Local and international visitors are treated to a diverse programme with numerous specialised tours and lectures dedicated to the motto “The World in Vienna – Vienna in the World”. On Friday, 16 February 2018, the Austria Tourist Guides will also offer special tours for blind and visually impaired visitors.
The Weltmuseum Wien and the Association of Licensed Guides of Vienna invite blind and visually impaired visitors to join them on a free special tour of the extensive permanent exhibition on Friday, 16 February 2018, from 1 to 5 pm. The Weltmuseum Wien’s inexhaustible variety of objects from non-European cultures will guarantee a highly diverse and entertaining afternoon for all ages. Registered guests accompanying blind and visually impaired visitors are more than welcome to find out more about the world as well as Austria’s international relations for themselves. Moreover, a special tour for children will be offered at 12:30 pm.

On Sunday, 18 February 2018, visitors will benefit from numerous free and exciting guided tours offered between 10 am and 4 pm. Vienna’s tourist guides will give you a taste of their extensive knowledge in four different specialised tours of the Museum as well as short walks around the Hofburg Palace. In addition, the WMW Forum will host a wide range of intriguing lectures in line with the motto all day long. Every full hour from 11 am to 3 pm, children between six and twelve years of age may join the special tour “Feathers – Feathers – Feathers and the tortoise Kura Kura”. Numerous guided tours will also be offered in foreign languages.
