Taoist priests wear richly embroidered cloaks during rituals. The gods depicted on the back are supposed to protect them during their often dangerous spiritual activities. The many small figures represent gods of the stars - the image in the center shows a place of Taoist gods in the form of a group of stars in the northern sky. The path to the highest gods, who are depicted at the very top, leads via this palace. Like an entrance gate to the divine spheres, there are five mountains in the lower middle section. Water and the human realm are shown at the bottom. The priest has the ability to travel through all the levels depicted and to connect the world of the gods with that of humans. Dragons are depicted on the obverse.
