The sole of the imprint, embraced by two serpentine deities, is covered under the five toes in the form of lotus buds with 108 emblems grouped in the shape of a blossom around the ideal, not compositional, center of the cosmos; the number 108 is auspicious. They show, among other things, all the constituent elements of the cosmos, which is made up of seven mountains, seven oceans, four continents, stars, sun and moon, plants and semi-divine, human and animal beings. Leaving this world and reaching nirvana is the goal of every Buddhist aspiration. The hierarchically arranged heavens in the form of small pavilions are only seen as a transit point on this path.
