Surrender of the Sultanate of Aceh on 20 January 1903 under Dutch colonial power

The photo was taken in Kota Raja, today Banda Aceh, the capital of the province of Aceh. The Sultanate of Aceh had waged a long war against the colonial powers (1873 - 1903). Even after the signing of surrender, the Dutch were not able to pacify the region.
