The hull ofthe model (L=37cm) is carved from one piece and has the semi-circular notchestypical of the Moken kabang at the bow and stern, which are used as an entryaid into the boat. The sides of the boat are made up of strips oflighter-colored wood that are attached to the hull in the longitudinal direction.The upper and lower decks of this model are made of split bamboo and are cutopen approximately in the middle at right angles to the longitudinal direction,with the (approximately 2 cm wide) slit allowing a view of the boat structurebelow deck. A (15.5cm high) mast rises from the front part of the deck, onwhich a rectangular sail woven from strips of pandanus is mounted. Also wovenfrom strips of pandanus leaves is the house-like structure on the aft deck(sleeping and cooking area), consisting of two rectangular roof areas (whichwere also used as spare sails) and two trapezoidal side walls. The roof restson a carved pole with a symbolic meaning at the front and back. At the stern isa trapezoidal wooden plate with two notches, one of which contains the rudder.A rudder is attached to each of two vertical sticks protruding over the sideswith bamboo strips. There are three harpoons on deck, one of which is thecharacteristic Moken trident (L=16cm, 17cm, 18.5cm). The model is permanentlymounted on a small stand made of two half disks connected by a crossbar.
