Creative Workshop with George Nuku
Oceans. Collections. Reflections.
At the creative workshop with artist George Nuku, we will work together to create a large sculpture out of various upcycling materials, which will be on display at the exhibition! We will transform plastic bottles into jellyfish and fish or create large paintings in the style of Māori art.
We will also view the large exhibition Oceans.Collections.Reflections. together with George Nuku. Each room is designed in a different colour, such as blue, red or green. We will move with the artist through blue ocean worlds and a green nature room, past large sculptures of plexiglass canoes and figures of sea turtles and birds, to animal preparations of kiwis, mice and huia birds, to Māori architecture. We will learn about life and everyday life of the Māori in the past and today.
The workshop is suitable for students aged 8 and above. The workshop will be held in English with translation and guidance by our cultural mediators.
