Inclusive dance workshop with Tanz die Toleranz
To mark Black History Month, the Weltmuseum Wien and the Tanz die Toleranz team invite you to an Afro-American Social Dances workshop. In this workshop, anyone interested can dance to funk, disco and house music under the guidance of Serge Koffi Coulon. It will be a moment of awareness, sharing and exchange.
Workshop leader Serge Koffi Coulon is a French-Ivorian dance artist and educator who lives in Vienna. He was introduced to the street and club dance underground scene in Paris over 20 years ago. He is passionate about club culture, artistic expression on the dance floor and the communal aspect of dancing.
The event is being organised in cooperation with Tanz die Toleranz. ‘With this programme, Caritas of the Archdiocese of Vienna provides intercultural and inclusive artistic work that enables new forms of encounters between people. The mission of Tanz die Toleranz is to enable everyone, regardless of talent and experience, age and gender, skin colour, religion, ethnicity or social background, to access and participate in art and culture. Dance connects across social, cultural and linguistic barriers. The medium of dance opens up new possibilities for communication and a sense of belonging.’ (Michael Landau)
