Design, paint, and decorate your own picture frames

Joyful and colourful, the Day of the Dead is celebrated in Mexican culture. On the richly decorated altar, photos of the deceased are the focal point: the altar or Ofrenda – centrepiece of the celebration – welcomes the spirits of the dead into the realm of the living.

In this workshop, under the guidance of Mexican artist Stephany Rodríguez Cabañas, picture frames made of cardboard will be colorfully painted, covered with stones, and decorated. Please don’t forget to bring your personal photo (ca. 11 cm x 18 cm) of a deceased relative or friend to honor them!

The workshop is suitable for children from the age of 8.
