2 pmExhibition tour with Gerda Gassner (camel riding school) and curator Bettina Zorn
On the Backs of Camels
Gerda Gassner had her first contact with camels in Egypt in 1978. Since then, these fascinating animals have accompanied her life ever since. Azza was the first camel to find a home in Eitental in December 1978. Today, alongside horses and ponies, there are 12 camelids, dromedaries and Bactrian camels, living on her property, Austria’s first camel riding school.
On this tour with curator Bettina Zorn, Gerda Gassner will share her knowledge and some amusing anecdotes with you – and also bring along a few objects from her collection. The highlight is to be revealed: camel shoes! You will find out what they are all about on this certainly entertaining tour.
22 June is World Camel Day
Discover the world of camelids! To mark World Camel Day, we are offering a varied educational programme at the museum for children and adults.
