What is the connection between historical exile and current experiences of flight? How accurate is the concept of exile in light of current developments? What significance do experiences of flight have for the construction of identities? To what extent can museums be places where these questions are negotiated?

Introductory words by Gabriele Anderl with a brief outline of refugee collectors of the Weltmuseum Wien and questions of restitution.

Panel discussion on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the founding of the Austrian Society for Exile Research (öge) with Susanne Scholl and Maynat Kurbanova. Moderation: Christoph Reinprecht.
