Living signs - Ritual body painting of the Huni Kuin

Isakayawei and Bismani Huni Kuin invite you to a special workshop in which the ritual body painting of the Huni Kuin can be experienced. The event begins with a traditional chant that opens the connection to the spiritual world.

The two artists then provide insights into the symbolism and meaning of the painting. The patterns created with plant colours are regarded as protective symbols and are applied to the body intuitively and individually - each motif tells its own story.

Children and adults are cordially invited to take part and try out painting with natural colours on the body or paper!

To participate in the event, all guests need a valid museum ticket.
Participation is free for annual ticket holders, Weltmuseum Wien Friends, Patrons, Members and Ambassadors as well as ICOM members and holders of the Kulturpass.
