Barrier-free event for blind and visually impaired visitors
The guided tour with multi-sensory mediation is aimed at sighted, visually impaired, and blind visitors and their companions.
Touching, tasting, hearing, smelling – that’s what’s on offer on this interactive and inclusive museum tour, where blind, visually impaired, and sighted people become active together in small groups. A cultural mediator awaits you with a station full of surprise objects to touch and try out in Kaleidoskop, the cultural mediation room of the Weltmuseum Wien. This is your opportunity to learn more about the Weltmuseum Wien collection through numerous hands-on objects and hear object stories from a variety of perspectives.
We offer a free accessible guided tour every month, alternating between a guided tour with sign language interpretation (ÖGS/D) for deaf and hard of hearing people and a guided tour for blind and visually impaired visitors.
Duration: 60 min.
Admission: The guided tour and the museum entrance are for free.
Registration: kulturvermittlung@weltmuseumwien.at or +43 1 534 30 - 5150 (Mon to Fri, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
Meeting Point: Hall of Columns
