Open family studio – Colourful stamping, creative with patterns from Mexico!

Workshop for children & adults

workshop
150 min
Participation: € 4.50 (reduced ticket € 3.50)

This open studio invites young and old alike to get creative together and design T-shirts.

Our designs are inspired by the colourful huipiles – traditional blouses woven by indigenous women from Chiapas and Oaxaca in southern Mexico.
You can discover these artistic garments in our current exhibition The Colours of the Earth as well as in the permanent exhibition. Using stamps by Mexican artist Stephany Daphne Rodríguez Cabañas, based on the typical patterns of huipiles, you can print your own colourful motif on fabric – and create your very own work of art!

Come by and join in – we look forward to seeing you!

On one Saturday a month, our studio will be open for 2½ hours to young and old (children aged 3 to 10 and adults) – during this time, you can come whenever you want. Bring an adult with you and experience art together.

Duration: come and go at any time.
Who? Children aged 3–10 and accompanying adults. The participation of adults is required.
Tickets:
Participation in the event: € 4.50 per participant (discount with the Annual Family Ticket € 3.50)
An admission ticket is also required (regular for accompanying adults, children free of charge).
Meeting point: Weltmuseum Wien, Studio
