Our green neighbors and their history

Botanical tour around the museum

guided tour
60 min
Participation: € 6 (no museum ticket required)

This tour focuses on the greenery around the museum - plants that we encounter every day and yet often go unnoticed. We ask about their origins, their history and their role in the urban fabric. It is hard to imagine Vienna's urban landscape today without lilacs and horse chestnuts, for example, but they were once deliberately planted here. Many of these plants tell of global movements, colonial entanglements and our relationship to nature in public space.

Tour in German language. Limited number of participants.
