Insight into the supreme discipline of Arabic calligraphy, the Thuluth script. Knowledge of Arabic is not necessary.

After the workshop, there is the opportunity to visit the exhibition Qur'an in Europe together with a cultural mediator from the museum. The exhibition is dedicated to questions such as: What role does the Holy Scripture of Islam, the Qur’an, play in the history of European ideas? How has it been read and understood in Europe since the first translations in the Middle Ages? The exhibition uses original historical objects, contemporary works of art and media installations to illustrate the countless ways in which the Koran has been experienced, read and interpreted in Europe.

In cooperation with the Wiener Kunst Volkshochschule, selected courses will be held on the premises of the Weltmuseum Wien. You can find the entire Kunst VHS program here: Program Kunst VHS 2023/24
