Zugabe is a Keroncong band founded in Vienna in 2022, under the direction of Ambassador Damos Dumoli Agusman. Comprised of Indonesian Diplomats in Vienna, the band made its debut performance at the commemoration of Indonesia's 77th Independence Day at the Indonesian Embassy in Vienna.  Since then, Zugabe has performed at the Embassy functions and various charity events organized by the Indonesian community in Austria.

Keroncong, with its roots believed to intertwine Portuguese and Indonesian influences, traces back to the sixteenth century when Portuguese sailors aboard ships played small, long-necked guitars and sang songs reminiscent of Fado, the soulful Portuguese folk music with Arabic tones.

This musical tradition found its way to communities in regions like north Jakarta and Manado (North Sulawesi), eventually becoming an integral part of Indonesian culture. Evolving over time, Keroncong embraced local Indonesian elements, especially in Solo, central Java, where it harmoniously blended with Gamelan music and the Javanese language.

An event of the Weltmuseum Wien Friends in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia. The Weltmuseum Wien Friends association offers a variety of advanced events to all those interested in the contents of the Weltmuseum Wien, such as object discussions, special guided tours, excursions as well as film and photo lectures.
