From the clever Kweku Ananse, from Exu, Iansa the mighty buffalo woman and Yemanja the mother of the seas

AEWTASS workshop for children (7 to 12 years)

KaleidosKids II
90 min
€ 4 for children/€ 12 for accompanying persons (incl. museum ticket)

This story spans the entire Atlantic: across the sea travel the tales of the cunning Kweku Ananse (Ghana), Exu, Iansa the mighty buffalo woman, Yemanja the Mother of the Seas (Nigeria) and so many others. From the African continent, to North America and back, these stories told of the common origin of Black people in Africa and the Diaspora.

This afternoon we will dive into the universe of these narratives and mythologies. We will get to know some of the characters and also create our own artworks inspired by their experiences.

The workshop will take place on the occasion of Black History Month and is facilitated by the Vienna Institute for the African Diaspora, as part of their project AEWTASS - Advancing Equality Within The Austrian School System. #AEWTASS

At the center of all AEWTASS considerations is optimizing the representation of people of African heritage in Austrian civil society.

Smile please! Important Notice: Photographs and/or film will be taken at this event. If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed, you can directly speak to the workshop facilitator.
