Get to know Ikebana - the Japanese art of flower arranging - accompanied by handicraft instructions. Based on the basic idea that "Ikebana can be created by anyone, at any time, in any place, with any material", participants will create their own works of art.

Herbert Grünsteidl discovered Ikebana based on his love of Japanese culture. He acquired several teaching diplomas and took part in a wide variety of workshops with international teachers in Europe and Japan. In 2014, he posthumously took over the Sogetsu Branch Vienna from his teacher, mentor and good friend Sachiko Schmid. He regularly teaches and creates exhibitions together with the Branch.

The course takes place in the context of the special exhibition Beyond the Future. Modern Japanese Calligraphy in cooperation with the Volkshochschulen Wien.
