In 1935 Helene Potjewijd moved to Vienna. In 1947 she bequeathed her ethnographic collection to the Museum for Ethnography in Vienna. In the collection there are 46 lamak drawings by Walter Spies. This constitutes the largest-preserved collection of lamak drawings by him. In addition to the individual motifs, the collection also contains two drawings of lamak at original scale
