Buddha

19. Jahrhundert. | Heinrich Breitenstein

The Buddha figure in the Bangkok style - incidentally, all styles of Buddhist art in Thailand are named after the current or former capitals - stands, dressed in royal regalia, on a lotus pedestal. The "abaya mudra" gesture of both hands shows how Buddha miraculously prevented a flood and became a symbol of his mastery over all passions.
