Such a "warrior's tail" attached to the back was regarded by the Angami Nagas as a symbol of a warrior's courage; among the Rengma Nagas, it identified the wearer as someone who had performed all the merit feasts or taken part in the headhunting ceremonies. The "warrior's tail" presented here is decorated with black-dyed bast fibers instead of human hair.
