Trousers

These shimmering green trousers made of synthetic fibres are a contemporary nod to the clothing of the ancient Khmer empire, where men and women wore trousers wrapped in long lengths of fabric. This explains their draped, pleated look. Twenty years ago, such clothing no longer played a role in everyday life in communist Vietnam, but for weddings and other festive occasions such garments could be bought or rented. These trousers were acquired by the collector as men’s trousers and part of a complete set of clothing for a bridal couple.
