These appear to be implements used for hobby fishing in the Tokyo area. We find float fishing implements (32619, 032621, 032623), a bottom fishing implement with a spreader (tenbin) (032616), and a jig (032624). It is unclear the type of fish that the float fishing implements were used to catch. Both 032621 and 032623 have a spreader. It is unclear whether multiple fishing implements are wrapped around their winding parts or these implements use both a float and spreader. Further investigation is necessary. The bottom fishing implement with a spreader is missing its hook. While a definitive conclusion cannot be drawn, it was probably used for saltwater fishing of smelt-whitings and gobies. The jig was most likely used to fish for ayu. In the latter half of the Edo period (1600–1868), ayu jig fishing was popular. This jig is made to look like a mosquito and is brightly colored.
