Garuda and the king

Lakon Parikesit Grogol

ca. 1935 | Helene Potjewijd

Shortly afterwards the eagle Garuda appears: a being as half bird and half human. The king immediately kills it. The eagle, however, changes into the god Sambu and teaches the impetuous king serenity, patience, and wisdom. Chastened, the king continues his journey.
