Jacket

Note: The following text is taken from a 19th-century collection catalog and, in its language and perspective, partially reflects colonial thought patterns. We present the text in its original version to make the collection's history transparent and promote a critical examination of the colonial legacy. Jacket - "Wadju"A short man's jacket, also with a standing collar, wide sleeves, made from green European cloth. The breast parts on both sides as well as the collar are decorated with short gold cords. This jacket is worn by nobles and privileged people in their daily lives, while at festivities and great ceremonies they prefer jackets which are made of European velvet or silk.
