Kettle gong

Kettle gongs of this type were ritually struck from the 10th century onwards in the region of northwest Vietnam, southern China, Laos and Myanmar by the Thai, Yao, Karen and Miau ethnic groups. Starting in North Vietnam, the kettle gongs spread across the mountainous region of the Greater Hinterland.
