Dieser Ohrschmuck wurde von Kriegern der Angami-Naga an Festtagen getragen. Voraussetzung war allerdings, dass sie den Kopf oder Gliedmaße eines Feindes nach Hause gebracht hatten. Ein Lotha-Naga musste Feinde abgewehrt und deren Besitz erbeutet haben.
