Thangka Vajradhara Yab Yum
The "holder of the diamond sceptre" Vajradhara embodies the diamond-hard, uncreated and indestructible nature of the Buddhist teachings. As the primordial Buddha, he is assigned to the transcendent realm of the Dharmakaya, the "body of the great order" in the Buddhist three-body doctrine. This is the level of "Absolute Reality", which lies beyond all ideas, concepts and imagery. Here in loving union with his female partner who symbolizes the Perfect Wisdom (prajñāpāramitā). The couple symbolizes the union of supreme compassion with supreme wisdom
