The Heron and the Crab
Satua Pedanda Baka
ca. 1935 | Helene Potjewijd
In a small pond live many fish and a crab. After months without any rain, the pond is almost completely dried up and the animals fear for their lives. Not far from the pond lives a cunning heron. Wearing the headdress of a high priest for camouflage, he approaches the pond and offers to help the fish by flying every one of them to a distant lake with enough food and water. The fish gladly agree.
