The Heron and the Crab
Satua Pedanda Baka
ca. 1935 | Helene Potjewijd
One fish after the other is transported to the lake. At last the crab is also taken away. In order not to fall, he holds on to the neck of the heron with his pincers. They have scarcely flown a short distance when they pass a rock, covered with fish bones. The crab realises immediately that the heron has deceived the fish and eaten them. Full of fury, he severs the neck of the heron with his claws and kills it.
