Trousers
1980s | Barbara Plankensteiner
This heavy eyelet pattern fabric, machine-embroidered on dark brown cotton, comes from high-quality Vorarlberg textile production for the Nigerian luxury market. A three-piece men’s suit made of this fabric consisted of trousers, a short-sleeve shirt, and a wide outer garment called a tobe or agbada with an asymmetrical neckline and large breast pocket.
