Vase (bum pa)

Consecrated water is mixed with medicine and saffron. During purification rituals and tantric initiations, a lama sprinkles it with a feather duster to cleanse the ceremonial site. The lamas also use the water to bless the pilgrims, who are given a few drops of it in their hands and symbolically drink it.
