Body cloth
19./20. Jahrhundert | Galerie Benedikt, Mödling
The cloth was worn by one of the Chakesang Naga, who live in southern Nagaland and northern Manipur. The stylized elephants identify the wearer as a powerful man. Today, such scarves are worn by the few followers of the old religion - the Christian majority, on the other hand, prefers red and black striped scarves.
