Body shawl
The body shawl could be worn by all Konyak-Naga women, regardless of their family status, as it symbolises their life in general. The basic colour white stands for the purity of the women. The narrow stripes indicate the way to the fields, which are often far away from the village and their main place of work. The red and black stripes indicate the hardness of the work, as these colours generally stand for toil and blood. Finally, the squares are the small houses that provide shelter.
