In the imagination of the Len Dong cult, the palaces of heaven, water, mountains and forests together form the universe, which is ruled by the three "Holy Mothers" The ruler of the Palace of Water is considered to be the daughter of the mythical dragon king Long Vuong, from whom all Vietnamese descend. She sends rain as the basis of life and protects people from both flood and drought. She assists kings and mandarins in their defense against foreign invaders.
