Pantheon der Medien (Dai Cong Dong)

21. Jahrhundert | Christian Schicklgruber

All deities that can take possession of a medium in the ritual are depicted under the Jade Emperor and the "Kings of the Four Realms". This arrangement reflects the pronounced hierarchy in the pantheon, which originally comes from popular Taoism. Although they are in a subordinate position here, they play a prominent role in the popular religious practice of the "cult of the mediums" (len dong).
