Kesuna at her grandmother's

Ni Bawang und Ni Kesuna

ca. 1935 | Helene Potjewijd

Kesuna seeks shelter at her grandmother's behind the forest. Outfitted in fine clothing, with pieces of jewellery, her long hair reaching to her bottom, and a hairslide in the form of a bird's head at the back of her head, she appears in front of the house. The grandmother is visibly surprised by her granddaughter's visit and almost does not recognise her.
