Dissimilar sisters
Ni Bawang und Ni Kesuna
ca. 1935 | Helene Potjewijd
Once upon a time there were two sisters that could not have been any more different. Kesuna was hardworking, helpful, and actively helped in the rice harvest. Bawang in contrast preferred sweet idleness and was insolent, lazy, and mean. One day Bawang accused Kesuna of being lazy. As a result, Kesuna was beaten by her mother and forced to leave her home.
