Poster, Ho Chi Minh
21. Jahrhundert | Christian Schicklgruber
All the posters in the collection of the museumare hand-made reproductions of well-known originals, which are sold in specialised shops in Hanoi. One of the reasons for this is that originals are now traded for between 300 and 1000 U$. Such reproductions are bought by both foreign and Vietnamese collectors. In front of a stylised lotus blossom and dove of peace, Ho Chi Minh proclaims Vietnam's independence on 2 September 1945. The sentence "Tan Trao welcomes the 60th anniversary of the August Revolution" commemorates the village of Tan Trao, where a provisional government under Ho Chi Minh decided to revolt against the colonial power in August 1945 as a base of resistance.
