Pucoh

ca. 1925 | Paul Schebesta

The older man is Pucoh, a Hala of the Sabubn. He held a special position in Schebesta's journey: "He was my first Semang, an image which burned deep into my memory." Schebesta made efforts to forge personal contacts with the Semang, in order to get closer to them. "I wanted to make Pucoh my friend at any cost, and use every means possible to do so."
