Water puppet

20. Jahrhundert | Christian Schicklgruber

The race between four riders in the traditional water puppet show is also reminiscent of warlike times. The winner is the first to cut the leaves off a banana tree with a sword. This was an exercise by mounted warriors in preparation for real combat. A song is played to accompany the wild hustle and bustle of the wooden figures:

My chestnut, my white horse, my red horse, my black horseCome out and form a line for the competitionBe ready, you knights,Who comes first, who comes last Up ahead is the finish line
