Lamak Ornament
Lamak
ca. 1935 | Helene Potjewijd
Early on, Walter Spies had admired the great abundance of lamak ornaments and embarked upon documenting them. After his death, the large-scale collection of lamak ornaments (more than 500 motifs) was scattered to the four winds. The 46 sheets discovered in Vienna are the largest-preserved group from this collection, and are therefore of particular value.
