Trousers

Note: The following text is taken from a 19th-century collection catalog and, in its language and perspective, partially reflects colonial thought patterns. We present the text in its original version to make the collection's history transparent and promote a critical examination of the colonial legacy. Trousers - "Salnar"A wide pair of trousers with a deep crotch, similar to Turkish ones, of a heavy, brown, black and white striped silk fabric. The lower border has a broad stripe in which thin silver wire has been artfully woven to form fine, regular figures.
